One of the best rewards for weight-loss is a new wardrobe. Purchasing a pair of trendy jeans in a size smaller than normally worn can encourage a person to stay on that diet. Hang these jeans in a conspicuous place, like in the kitchen, to have a visual goal to work toward. The same idea can apply to a new bra to fit a new and thinner body. If money is tight, the reward does not have to be expensive. A t-shirt or scarf or a pair of walking shoes can encourage a person to continue dieting. Just having something to work toward is often enough to motivate.
Planning a vacation is also a great way to show off a new body. Making sure to be realistic about the time needed to accomplish diet goals is very important. Safely losing ten pounds in a month is a realist goal. Planning a vacation six months in advance can give a person plenty of time to drop fifty or even sixty pounds. Placing photos of the vacation destination on the refrigerator is a superb way to remind the dieter of the reward. Having those photos where the food is located gives the person a moment to make a choice. Choosing not to consume those extra calories is much easier with swaying palm trees or a beautiful ski resort beckoning.
Weight-loss goals can be rewarded with food items as well as clothing or vacations. Allowing a whole day of open food choices can be a wonderful break for a tired dieter. Eating pizza and chocolate cake for one day is not going to pack on twenty pounds, but it can reset a tired psyche. Just make sure that the diet resumes the following day. Attending a party, especially a pool party, with a thinner body can be a great reward. Eating any of the foods available at the party while showing off a new figure gives a person time to relax.
Rewards for finishing a diet program can include changes in hair or makeup styles. Having a complete makeover when the goal weight is reached is a perfect way to celebrate. Bringing a friend along for the makeover is even better than doing this alone. The compliments and camaraderie can go a long way toward keeping a person motivated and keeping the weight off. Rewards for healthy lifestyle changes are worth the money that is spent on them. Just keeping in mind the health issues that can be avoided when a person is not overweight can be a reward as well. Lowering blood pressure and getting off of medication can be a reward in itself.
